This is the legendary satay with peanut sauce in Medan, having a history of at least 45 yrs and now managed by the third generation.
I ordered chicken and mutton with lontong. Its chicken are in small cube size without any fats or skins which to me is a plus point. Whilst its mutton has some fats in between the meat to bring out the fragrance. Its peanut sauce is not sweet, lots of grind peanuts and not too spicy. Before tying with rubber band, he added fried shallot and squeeze a lime.
The mutton stands out more because of the fats, but the chicken is not that bad. #halal

Hokkien mee Medan is a bowl of ingredients for you to explore bits by bits. You are served with prawn balls, prawns, fish slice, stew pork knuckles, stew duck egg, mini oysters, crab meat, slices of prawn cakes, vegetables along with your choice of mee, vermicelli, flat rice noodles or mix.
Try not to drink the soup, which is separately given to you because it is a ajinomoto soup.
Must try when you are here in Medan for non-halal food. #nonhalal

I ordered Rose earl grey crepe, har jiong wingers, Muse meat balls, Unicorn Hokkaido toast, garlic soy honey chicken Hokkaido toast, and coffee. Hokkaido toast is a must try. The rest of the food and drinks are average and not outstanding.
I was expecting fresh creams used for the crepe, but the margerin smell is overwhelming from the layers crepe. The fried chickens are dry and oil, most probably not defrost long enough and fried it too long.
Atmosphere wise is cosy with a few flies flying in the shop, which is not impressive to certain customers. Waitresses are attentive. #halal

#giantandfood

Satay in Malaysia has many version, especially the sauce. In Melaka, the Hainanese satay are often served in a combination of peanut sauce and pineapple, which give you extra bit sour taste at the ending.
Suukee Satay owner has served Malaccan more than 30 years of the best authentic Hainanese satay in Melaka. Run by 2nd generation using a traditional recipe, The satay is excellent and u can request it to be grilled well done or otherwise. Generous supply of pineapple satay source upon request. Using traditional Ketupat, not the plastic-wrapped Ketupat.
Hainanese serving you the authentic chargrill satay with a variety of choices from pork, chicken and etc. Other than that, you have the chargrill beancurd skins, otak-otak too.
Satay sauce consists of pineapples, grind peanuts, mild chilis, sesame and they go along with the chargrill satay.
Satay is not over-grilled, juicy, mild fragrance from marinated meat, and highly addictive.
For hygiene, the satay sticks are never recycled. Hence, the satay per stick price at 90 cents. They are very particular of hygiene and giving you the absolute confidence with a visible chargrill pit and how they handle their satay.
